Date : 26th July 2005
PETRONAS hosted the Welcoming Reception for the participants of the Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicle Association at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. CHAFZ ENTERPRISE supplied the manpower and transportation for GLOBAL 2000 whom is the main agent for the event.
There were showcases of the main ethnic traditions of Malaysia,namely Malay,Chinese and the Indian culture at 3 separate corners of the ballroom.
Malay culture brought guests the experience of Ketupat Weaving, separating the rice from the paddy, the Islamic Caligraphy and also the Gasing spinning sport.
The Chinese culture gave guests the extra-ordinary art of the Chinese Opera, Chinese Caligraphy and dough sculptures according to the Chinese Zodiac.
The Indian culture showcased their Coconut Grating technique,the beautiful Peacock Lady and the colourful Kolam making.
Three (3) mock up houses were also built inside the ballroom to depict the three different types of culture (Malay,Indian & Chinese)..guest had a lot of displays put up for them to ensure they get to know as much as they want to about our cultures.
While the guests dine,PETRONAS PERFORMING ARTS GROUP (PPAG) had a very talented singer,Anna belting everygreen Malaysian tunes and then they performed a truly elaborated traditional dance performance which showcased almost ALL of the local cultural dances in Malaysia. Guests also had a chance of dancing the Joget when the dancers came down and invited guests to have a try.
While many guests browsed thru these cultural exhibitions/displays,the Global Team including myself had a fun time explaining our beautiful culture to the foreign guests.
All in all,it was truly a great experience for everyone..including ourselves.
